LOL - not sure what was going on here but a group of does walked up to our new well cam and spent a good amount of time trying to check it out.

I swear animals can see, or sense, the infrared light on these cameras. I’ve seen so many night pictures where the animal is staring right at the camera.

The tactacam has a tiny green led and makes a very very slight click sound. If animals are near the camera, they sense both.

I've seen the LED and figured that's what they were looking at. Never heard the sound you're talking about but then, I've never been up close and listening before.

It's very subtle. I can hear it when it's quiet in the woods and I'm close to the camera. It's a single click.
