Tires worst enemy...

True statement.

New to the forum. But just recently ran into that lovely little thorn. Does anybody use a sealer? Or tire good so if there is a whole it can be temporarily sealed?

Welcome to way of life. I'll be in Temecula for the rod run in march. The wife has family down there.

What he said. I would just plug it. If it were an emergency trail repair, I would even plug it if it were in the sidewall - in fact, I've had to do it before. :crazyeyes: Otherwise, a set of Toyo MT's or Nitto Trail Grapplers is something you might want to consider getting in the future.

This is what I carry and have used on multiple occasions to help others out.

This one is made by ARB and it costs about $38. It's a good kit but, you can find similar kits for less.

I got a cheap kit.... I want that one just for the case to keep it all organized

Did you buy online? Where should I look into that?
 
Yeah, just Google "ARB tire repair kit".

Also, if you buy your tires from Discount Tire, you can pay a little extra to get their replacement certificates for each tire. On my 37" Nittos they were like $60 per tire I think... So $300 extra. But when you get the certificates, the tires are insured against damage, on road or off, no questions asked. If they can't repair the hole, they will replace the tire. Since my tires are about $400 apiece, the certs more than pay for themselves with just one replacement. This happened on my last jeep. Very handy to not have to worry about shelling out $400 when you get a sizeable flat.
