Wines of the Week

Need about 1/3 cup of wine for a side dish I'm making tomorrow. Hopefully there is some left. [emoji6][emoji485][emoji485]

If you ever have a chance to try or buy Canadian Icewine, I strongly recommend it. This one is a Riesling and the last bottle brought back from a great vacation several years ago.

Needed some wine for my crockpot, this was a Total Wine "top pick" or something like that. Not bad for ~$10.

I need a wine recommendation for our Christmas meals.

1) Christmas Eve Mexican food...carne asada fajitas, chili rellenos, rice, etc

2) Christmas Day beef tenderloin, roasted root veggies, misc salads.

Label is cool. I'd buy it just for that. [emoji106] This is what the Mrs and I drank last night. Cool label too. A central coast Grenache. Sweet start, peppery finish.

What your budget for festivity wines?

Picture didn't show up.

$1. Maybe $3 since it's christmas. ;)

I normally like to try to find wines under $20 just because I can. I'll spend more for Christmas, don't really need to have a budget, but under $50 would be nice.

Happened to have cost plus on my rounds today. I'm sure nothing new, but these are a few good options/varietals. Haven't had this particular Rioja, but Rioja is good.

On your next Costco....SAMS....run [emoji6], peachy canyon and opolo have a couple bottles I've seen there that are good and definitely in your budget.

I don't buy many store wines in the 30-50 range.

Bought a bottle of Bogle for no other reason that I enjoy the bogleheads website and I needed 6 bottles to get the 30% discount at the store. A true wine connoisseur. ;)

What would New Years be without some bubbly. Here's a special Central Coast sparkling. Cheers and happy new year!!

Is a nice evening for a bottle. Uncorked this new varietal they are calling Lyrik. Crazy name, so went with a crazy glass. [emoji485][emoji485]

In case you are wondering, here are the tasting notes for the Lyrik. One thing I love about this vineyard/winery is that they always send out great write-ups.
