Got a back injury at work a few weeks ago, and after several trips to the chiropractor, I thought I was healed.. Yesterday I was doing a bunch of welding on a trailer for a friend and all of a sudden, mid weld, my back got the same shooting pain... Nice.. Had the heat pad on it all last night, and this morning felt great..
This morning I ditched church and went Off with my buddy to go tear up some trails on the dirtbikes... Five minutes in I can't hardly sit or stand.... After several mid trail Strectches, still no relief.. Got back to the truck and couldn't hardly stand up..... Tried riding in the cab for about five minutes before we finally decided the best way was for me to lay flat in the back of the pickup.... ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1384116546.026652.jpg
It was the only position that wasn't excruciating... Snapped a pick of the view on the way home. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1384116514.288444.jpg
Now I lay here in bed with way too much aleve in my system waiting for my wife to get home. Nice... Feel free to shoot some prayers my way!!

You got it! I know how you feel. The one time I skipped church I was struck by a fever so great....just kidding! I'm not legalistic that way.

I hope you get to feeling better. I've got a fused L5,S1. Be good to your back!!!

I'm partial here, but you need to see a spine specialist and a PT pronto (not a chiropractor). What you are experiencing needs to be diagnosed and treated. The back, neck and spine are nothing to mess around with.

Definitely thinking about that now that I am laying in bed in such pain! The only thing that makes any of the pain go away is laying facedown. I thought with the heatpad and some Aleve I would be feeling better by now, but that is definitely not the case

I second this. I have had back issues for years and this year has been the worse. I actually hurt it so bad I couldn't stand or pee!!! Back is nothing to mess with and a chiropractor isn't the answer. I see an osteopath and has has done wonders for me. My L4 and L5 are in pretty bad shape but he has me pain free until I do like you and ignore that inner voice :) good luck with the recovery. Also I was told to much heat is a bad thing. Alternate heat and ice.

I was in a car accident many years ago where both cars were totaled . I was t boned in an intersection .My back was so hurt , I thought I would never work or do any thing again . After all the drugs and chiro. appointments , nothing helped . A friend told me about a accupuncturist and I thought he was crazy ! I mean , how do you get stuck with pins in your feet , or whatever and solve a back problem.I figured I did not have anything to lose so I went for it .$65.00 dollars later and about 45 minutes , the problem was solved . I mean I walked out of there feeling no pain , and it never came back ! That was several years ago.I have had other problems since and being that we have moved , I have seen other accupuncturists that could not solve my problem . Now when I go back to visit where I used to live , I always stop by to see him for treatment .Maybe you could find some one that could help you also . Good luck .

^^^ acupuncture won't help bulging disks (or worse). Just saying. Time for X-rays and MRI. Then coarse of action.

Acupuncture is an amazing thing. And as stated above it won't fix everything but man it can help. I have seen it do amazing things.

Heating pad on an acute injury is not going to help and will likely make it worse. Get theyself to a physical therapist and an ice pack in the mean time.

True , it won't help bulging discs (i had that ) but if you can take away the pain and quit favoring one side or the other and quit walking weird , it helps .

......Update.....
You called it JAGS! After 3 trips to the chiro he decided to order me an MRI. Got the results today and they are saying I need surgery. I have a herniated disc that is leaking the gel out, and all the while my nerves are being compressed causing my left leg to be numb.... Really weird.. Thanks for the support guys!
I feel like God is taking care of me though- I am the sole provider for our family of 4, and just about 10 months ago I signed up for Aflac and disability insurance!! That's good timing!!

Oh man. That sucks, but really glad you got yourself to a doc and he ordered up the right tests. Hopefully you'll be fixed up right.

Well wishes on a speedy recovery too. Be kind to your PT post-op. I'm sure MTG would agree with me here as well. 😉👍

Keep us posted.
