Tie rod ball joints and 15" rims

My tie rod needs replaced so I'm researching and see that RK recommends 17" rims. Is there anyway I am going to be able to up grade tie rod and still run my 15's?? The Synergy guy said there may be some rubbing.

Upgraded TRE's are a lot bigger and will require more room between them and your wheels. 15's won't cut it.
