Advice for a damaged back gate?

I was doing some mall-crawling in a structure downtown... annnd reversed into an massive concrete pillar(its cloaking device deactivated once it was damaged from my attack). Stock tire carrier situation.

Gate sheet metal is bent in an inch or so. Catch still latches. I'm going to try and bend it back short term and swap it out in the next week.

• Anybody replaced the tailgate before reusing all other parts? Any thoughts or advice?
• What am I looking at needing?
• I'm assuming I can even buy the gate from the dealer who can order (or has) it in my color?
• Or, any suggestions where to source it?

I'm hoping the stock tire carrier structure is fine but haven't checked it yet.

I wouldn't get a new tailgate unless you really had to. Try talking to a body shop first, could be a simple enough fix.

Before you go and replace it, I would take it to a body shop and get an opinion from a body man. At my dealer we have a guy that comes by and removes dents from all areas. Maybe even get a quote from the body shop and tell your insurance that someone backed into you but didn't leave a note.
