Allpar published info on the new Tenth Anniversary Edition 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. As you will see, it will be available in the same blue as the Mighty FC and come with the same red interior trim as what you saw on Porkchop. Don't know if I'm digging the bumpers but, the hood ain't so bad and I am happy to see that it will be coming with slightly bigger tires!! Check it out...

2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Tenth Anniversary Edition
Ten years ago, Jeep raised the bar in off-road capability with the 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Named after a grueling off-road trail, the Rubicon models were the most extreme Wranglers ever produced. Over the last decade, the Wrangler Rubicon has won numerous awards, including Four Wheeler’s “4x4 of the Decade.”

To celebrate the Rubicon’s tenth anniversary, Jeep created a limited-production 2013 Wrangler Rubicon Tenth Anniversary Edition, claiming it is the most capable factory-produced Jeep Wrangler ever. Jeep Chief Mike Manley wrote, “It is a unique vehicle that we expect will long be sought after, a Wrangler that offers an unprecedented level of capability once only attainable by long hours of custom aftermarket preparation crafted in the garages of the most avid Jeep enthusiasts in the world... [with] standard off- road equipment seen for the first time on a production vehicle.”

Set to arrive in showrooms in the spring of 2013 in both two-door and four-door versions, it is based on the normal Wrangler Rubicon / Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. It will be sold with a six-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic transmission.

7994

The Jeep part-time four-wheel-drive system has electronic-locking front and rear Dana 44 axles that receive power through a Rock-Trac transfer case with a “4-Low” ratio of 4:1. The standard axle ratio, shared with Rubicon, is 4.10:1; Tru-Lok locking differentials are standard. With the manual transmission, the Wrangler Rubicon Tenth Anniversary Edition has an impressive crawl ratio of 73.1:1. (Jeep also lists a 2013 Wrangler Rubicon with the automatic and an axle ratio of 3.73:1; the 4.10 is available with the automatic and the only ratio with the manual.)

A one-half inch increase in ride height over the standard Rubicon provides the BF Goodrich KM2 265/70R17 tires more room to claw at rugged terrain. 17-inch Rubicon aluminum wheels are painted satin black with polished faces, and a red Jeep Wrangler “icon” logo on the outside lip.

Black front and rear steel off-road bumpers toughen up the exterior; the front bumper has a winch-capable design. The removable front bumper end caps help the Wrangler climb obstacles without hindrance, and can prevent damage potential to the bumper system. A dual-intake Power Dome hood helps aid in engine cooling and appearance. Red tow hooks adorn the front and rear, and Mopar rock rails give added protection from trail damage (Mopar also supplied the black fuel filler door and tail lamp guards). The vehicle includes “10th Anniversary” badges on the fenders and a red-silhouette “Rubicon” decal on the sides of the hood.

The Wrangler Rubicon Tenth Anniversary Edition comes with a Premium Sunrider soft top; buyers can also get the optional black three-piece Freedom hardtop or body-color hardtop. Paint colors are limited Billet Silver, White, and the exclusive Anvil.

7995

Striking red leather include “Rubicon 10th Anniversary” embroidery in the front seat backs. Red stitching adorns the leather-wrapped steering wheel and the center console. A special gauge cluster features a “10th Anniversary” signature and an information center (EVIC) with read-outs including as oil pressure, oil temperature and tire pressure. The passenger grab handle includes a “Rubicon 10th Anniversary” badge and Quick Silver accents that are also found on the vent rings, steering wheel spokes and door pulls.

Final design touches include Mopar slush mats, unique axle locker and sway-bar disconnect switches, and a plaque mounted in the dash tray with technical data, such as axle type and ratio, tire size, transfer case crawl ratio, and manufacturer location.

All Wranglers for North America are built at Chrysler’s Toledo Assembly Plant in Toledo, Ohio.

7996

Brakes are discs (four-wheel antilock) with a drum-in-hat parking brake. Both front and rear axles are electronic-locking Dana 44s regardless of ratio. Rubicons come with an electronic sway-bar disconnect system for the link-coil front suspension (the rear suspension is also link-coil).

I agree on not liking the bumpers but I love the hood decals with the red and black. Also that interior is killer!!

Def pros and cons both ways....

Pros: ITS THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION:rock:, pretty cool options and upgrades not available anywhere else...

Cons: Not what I would consider significant "performance gains", IMHO:twocents:

I have a 2013 JKUR, and I was debating on holding off my purchase until this thing arrived... I am happy with the Jeep I bought, but there still may be hint of jealously towards these bad boys....:D

So the only way I get my anvil color is to buy one of these? Hmmmm.

nah, you shouldn't be jealous, you just now have more reason to build up your jeep the way you want :yup:

unfortunately, that might be the case. we're heading out to the LA auto show tomorrow and if one is out there, we'll be sure to take lots of pics and find out what we can. :yup:

Thanks! I'm still living out of a hotel for my trial. I could use some Jeep porn. ;)

For a stock vehicle there's a lot to like, but the improvements are in small doses like 1/2" lift with the 265's. The heat reduction hood could improve things for those of us in the hotter climates. I'm probably in the minority but, I kinda like the bumpers.:twocents:

If ur plan is to buy, and keep a jeep pretty much stock.....this is the jeep for u!

For the mod-happy, the front and rear bumpers are less than desirable but sufficient. There is no performance or game changing upgrades. Buuuuut really all that makes this a truly cool and appealing to me is the seats.

My guess...45k sticker price :-/

if i could guess, i think you're right on this one. and, i'd even be willing to bet dealers get up and over that for it.

I think it's awesome. Not quite what I was hoping for but exceeding my expectations. The new style hood is awesome looking and not just an AEV hood without the side vents (although AEV probably still makes it for them). I like the bumpers too, not something I would buy, but for OE I think they're pretty slick, able to remove the ends to give you a better approach, spot for a winch that isn't just a big empty hole until you put one in there. The red accents are nice, a little too much in the interior for me with the seats but I'd still rock em. I just wish Jeep would do something about the sport bar on 2 doors. I think the square cage is hideous. I always get jealous when I see an older model with the slant back sport cage. I know they did it for rear passenger safety. But I wonder if its got more to it than this, like all the other special editions, maybe a Rubicon instrument panel? But with what they have I don't think it will be as overpriced as some of the other special editions.

Wonder how much it would be to swap the hood on my 2012 JKUR? That, and i also like the new seats in '13, but not too sure about the red.

I believe this is the same color as the nukizer. It was hard to say for sure with the lighting. definitely not FC - maybe something in between. We took a shot of billet too and will post it up later.

Does anyone recognize the rock sliders? I'm still thinking about a set for my plain Jane. But first, I bet I have some red paint, I think my front tow hooks would look good red. May the back too. We'll see.

The Anvil color is the draw for me. I have always liked dark grey. Can't understand all the weird bright colors. Biggest thing stopping the purchase of a new Jeep is the color selection. My '08 still looks and runs great. The lifetime warranty is there and it has never caused me any trouble. My neighbor bought a now 2011 that leaked so bad he traded it on a Ram. I'm afraid of getting rid of one that works so good and getting a problem child.

For those of you wanting the the New Special 10th Anniversary Edition Rubicon, here's some news for you...

Ordering open for special Rubicon

Buyers can start reserving their own Tenth Anniversary Jeep Wrangler Rubicon now. Set for March 2013 production, the first wave is not available for showroom stock; dealers can only get them if they have sold one to a customer. The two-door version will list for $35,995; the four-door, for $39,495 (we believe this does not include destination charges).

The special edition starts with the standard Rubicon, but adds a half-inch increase in ride height and BF Goodrich KM2 265/70R17 tires. Black front and rear steel off-road bumpers are included; the front bumper has a winch-capable design and removable bumper end caps. A dual-intake Power Dome hood helps aid in engine cooling. Mopar rock rails give added protection from trail damage (Mopar also supplied the black fuel filler door and tail lamp guards). The black dash and red leather seats are standard, along with a dash plaque with tech specs, new tire pressure monitoring and vehicle information center, standard Alpine seven-speaker stereo, UConnect, slush mats, and other features.

Actually we've been playing with the vehicle builder in Dealerconnect, and it looks like connectivity, power convenience and leather are standard, so the price really isn't much of a hike over a normal Rubi. Add a hard top and you're just over $37,000 on a two door...we have a couple 2 doors well over $38k on the lot right now. That being said, I doubt you'll see these discounted below invoice like you see on every other Wrangler, so the difference will be more exaggerated once you start talking sale price.

I'll have to wait until they hit the lots and see what they're selling for with certain options before i make a decision on that. For now I'm still not sure its worth it. i can already see a stupid high dealer mark up because its an anniversary edition. I really wouldnt be surprised if they have a $50k plus price tag and my local dealer.

The design of the Hood looks a bit odd IMO. Wouldnt all the water ice and any other outside source of dew / rain /sleet / melted snow , go rt under the hood . Looks like a good channel rt in , not so sure about that design for funtionality !! But again Just my opinion . Def dont run it w/an open air box !!!!!

I think its nice all around but if that two door is 50 grand id say no way ! but hell if you have the money and you love it buy it ! I would pass on it nothing on it screams 50 grand but thereagain nothing screams 30 or 22! its called sticker:shock: these things certainly arnt holding up to the expectations with quality control
