Winch cable crushed during spool, request a second pair of eyes

Apparently while spooling, the winch cable got crushed, did not notice it until yesterday that I had to help someone who got their minivan stuck in a ditch. I responded it and took a good look, no threads are broken, it just looks crushed but would love a second pair eyes to look at the pic and tell me what they think...

The same thing happened to mine about a month ago it was the first time I used it after I re cabled I'm just gonna switching to rope tired of dealing with the cable to much of a pain to free spool

Common problem with steel rope. So long as it isn't splintered, you should be okay with it. As always, just treat any pull you do as if the rope will break - safety first. :yup:

It will be a weak spot since those strands have been stressed and bent already, it should be okay though, just make sure you use a line dampener just in case.

Thanks guys, it's fairly deep in the line, unless I have to do a long pull it might not leave the spool in a long while
