Gas smell when going up or down steep road

I sometimes smell gas coming inside from time to time. I usually notice it when going up or down a steep road. maybe because of thickness of the floor? or close to the engine.

is this normal?

I have a pajero and isuzu dmax. it doesnt smell at all.

Nothing normal about it to me. I've never had the smell of gas coming inside like that. Is it safe to assume you have no check engine lights on?

Not normal. Check around tank, engine, fuel lines, and charcoal canister for seepage or leakage. Look for any cracked lines near charcoal canister. Any engine light on?

Kind of what I was thinking as well and if that were the case, a check engine light would be on for sure or will come on soon.

I've had fuel smell in the past. Only happens when I am at full tank and on a steep grade or ledge I'm going up. It's coming from evap can but no leakage. Lots of fumes. But goes away as soon as I'm level.
Doesn't happen if I'm not totally full. I have a 2010 JKU
