Okay, I know this one is silly but the cheap faux leather wrapped shift knob that the previous owner had installed on Pappy, our 1954 Willys CJ3B was simply driving me nuts! Not only did it look and feel like something off of an old Honda, it was gerry-rigged on and it was all I could do to keep it from coming off the shift lever. Fortunately, Omix-Ada does make and sell a ton of factory replacement parts and a new shift knob is one of them.
Here's a shot of what came on Pappy.
Unfortunately, the top of the shift lever wasn't threaded for the new knob I got but that was easy enough to fix.
Ta-Da! Good as new again.
While I was at it, I also installed a new driver side mirror to replace the funky DIY one that came on Pappy. Much nicer hindsight at last
