According to the article the hood is 2" longer than the current JK hood. There are photos of them both side by side and it is definitely longer.

Thanks for the welcome. In the article, the pictures are clearly showing it being oversized / longer. I guess I'm just naturally skeptical. Is this kind of leak or mistake common? I'm not a Jeep owner (yet), but I'm following this pretty closely because I'm only holding out to see what happens with the diesel option.

Does not look right on that jeep due to it being longer.

Looks like a purposeful leak. The new JL is supposed to be a bit longer or at least up front.

Look at the article. The hood is longer and even has a different profile.

Just look at the hood latches if nothing else

I'm more interested in finding one of these "recyclers" to buy parts from. Maybe I'm old but does "recycler" = "junk yard"?

Looks more as if the heat cowl is longer and the hood is shorter being that the latches are moved up closer to the front [emoji848]

Damn, I wonder how backwards compatible it will be with the JK....would suck if all the bumpers, sliders, mounts, racks, cages, and skids would be obsolete because of the redesign. I can see the roof racks (because the windshield bolts are not in different spots) and maybe the hood, but really hope the rest of the stuff will be backwards compatible. Here's hopin!

It would be awesome if JK mod prices fall, for some of us.

I would not get my hopes up. Remember bumpers, sliders, mounts, racks, cages, and skids for a TJ do not fit on a JK.... being realistic almost non of those will work on the JL without modification.

TJ to JK is not a lateral move. CJ to YJ is closer to what the JK to JL will be like.

Something isn't making sense....the JL is supposed to have a more raked windshied and front grill....a raked front grille should SHORTEN the hood, not lengthen it.

Depends on the length of the Cowl between the bonnet and windscreen.

I recently read that the new front end is a bit longer to accommodate the 8 speed, which would explain the longer hood.

I think, based on these teaser pictures from Chrysler, this hood can't be for the final version. Because the final version doesn't have the hood latches or window bumpers on the hood.
