They compress to a very flat surface area. In other words, if you are measuring and trying to figure out how to set them up, measure from the axle pad to the bottom of the metal cup on the frame, do not measure the rubber itself. On a good hit, they pretty much flatten out.

IF you are trying to measure your bump, Pull out the yellow foam, and measure with just the cups. :thumb:
