View Full Version : VIDEO : MAKING of a LEGEND Part 1 - Let Our Gladiator Transformation Begin

When Cindy and I built up our Jeep JL Wrangler, we purposefully took our time and installed as many aftermarket products as we could. This would include everything from a basic budget boost to EVO long arms and coilovers and we did all this to gain as much experience as possible. With that said, when it came to start building up our brand new Jeep JT Gladiator, we decided to do things a bit differently. Being that the two are so similar in design especially up front, we decided to pick up where we left off on the JL and go BIG right from the get go. Of course, I'm talking about Dana UD60 1-ton axles, Nitto 40" Trail Grappler tires, a PSC ram assist steering system and a superior EVO coilover suspension system. In this short video, you'll get to see the beginning of our Gladiator's transformation from being the mythical Jeep truck that it once was, into the Legend that it has since become. We hope you enjoy.

You and Cindy are amazing! Canít believe how quick you guys can churn these videos out, canít wait to see the next one!!

LOL - not gonna lie, it's been nuts for us and we still have things that need to get installed on our JT before heading out.

It's been a while since we've been back east. Looking forward to it. :)

Man, that would be great. Timing is really tough though. I was hoping to leave on Monday and take our time but now, we may not be able to leave until Tuesday evening. That'd me we'd have to cannon ball it out there and that would suck. If so, there might be time on the return trip.

Very cool build, especially the PSC install.

What does the shop do with all those OEM parts they take off?

Good stuff gets saved to be sold off later but most ends up going to scrap.

I know time will really only tell. But any initial thoughts on the ud60s?

So, right off the bat, I'm actually impressed with what I'm seeing especially for a crate axle. The knuckles are massive and made of iron, the ball joints are big, the brakes are massive and the shafts are HUGE. Up front, they're way bigger than what you can get on other crate axles. While their brackets are a lot beefier, they are only robot welded and so the corners aren't wrapped. This is easily fixable by any reputable shop. Also, while I love how big the front shafts are, I would have preferred they came with full circle clips as opposed to c-clips. When it comes to the battle of the crates, Dana really did well with the UD60 and other companies should feel threatened by it.

We decided to run 5.38's and so far, I think it's been the right call. :yup:
