I don't disagree. They all have agendas. But Jimmy Kimmel went from being a funny entertaining guy to a complete political tool. I'm not a fan of Fox, but I have just a touch more respect for them than Jimmy Kimmel.

What is the correct action? Please enlighten everyone? I don’t believe the correct action is to put stock in the words of the highly opinionated Hollywood elitists and I also don’t think the answer is to only listen to the folks screaming 2nd Amendment. You seem to be enlightened into some sort of “action” that none of us know about. To me, this whole gun debacle is a catch 22. If your “action” is to write a silly check to a state rep, then you are delusional.

IMO there is no one solution.
Gun restrictions based on mental health and criminal records, way more resources put into mental health, and the continuation of anti-bullying campaigns come to mind.
I joked in a post a few days ago about males being the cause but I got to thinking afterwards about a common demographic in most if not all ... angry white males.
So...why are they all so pissed off? Seriously, try to simulate their logic: what would it take to get YOU to do something as horrible as THAT? What would your childhood have to be like? etc?

Race!! I come from a black and white version of the Brady Bunch from way back in the fifties at the age of 2. I just thought everyone was a racist, what with all the name calling. You wanna solve this issue? Educate people. All of them. Conscript them into college or university of you have to. Blend them all together at the same time. Worked in Montreal when I was a student from 1- university.

Someone played the race card. What I’m trying to convey is, education helps people understand a multitude of issues, sometimes just by exposure to the issues. Just maybe they will give you a handshake instead of a bullet.

You can relax, I'm not calling you or white males as a whole out. I'm a white male myself but angry, naaaaa.
I was simply pointing out a common demographic and asking readers to jump in the shoes of said demographic and think about what it would take to make them shoot up a school, church, concert, night club, etc.
OK...lets try this. I'll replace "angry" with "troubled".

Well.. whites make up about 73% of the population while committing about 70% of mass murders. They rank 3rd by percent behind asians and blacks. Its natural that the higher percent of the population would commit crimes at a higher rate right? There is alot of info out on the interwebz that tell the story more accurately than headlines.

I think Kimmel started getting more political when he had the realization that parents of children born with similar heart defects (and things of the like) would have a much tougher go (than he and his wife because they're wealthy) if it were not for Obamacare.
Disect that all you want...but it struck a chord for him I guess.
Regardless, no parent should ever have to worry about bankruptcy because their kid is gravely ill. I'm sure we can all agree there.

Do you pay attention to crime rates else where in the country, the world? If we are talking per capita deaths per city or country at the hands or doing of another person you would not go down this rabbit hole. Race is not the issue here. Guns aren’t the issue here. You are picking out a small group of events that were highly publicized. What about suicide bombings? What about crazed people behind the wheel of a car? The issue is much deeper than the tools used to kill. Taking away one tool will lead to using another. I don’t think mental illness is the issue either. I’ve seen plenty of mentally ill people get jobs and become successful contributors to society. A single race is not the only one committing these crimes.

White or not, Saying race has anything to do with violence is just as stupid as saying guns have anything to do with it. The color of someone's skin or their weapon of choice has NOTHING to do with the choices they make. And I could really give a fuck what the statistics show in regards to that.
