Wait, people are selling used junkyard axles that cost more than dynatrac and people are buying them?

I believe that when Fusion started they were rebuilding junkyard axles. They no longer do that. As far as I know, they are sourcing pumpkins from a factory in Michigan and are building axles with new stock to the customer's spec.

I'm pretty certain Fusion only uses newly sourced (non junkyard) components.

Customer service goes a LONG way in my book after having received pretty bad and expensive experiences over the last few years. Wherever I find it will get my business.

Didn't Mel set out to evaluate all of the crate 60's at one point? I never saw the result of his personal assessment. I'm curious if Dynatrac came out his favorite.

Does Dynatrac make their own gears, bearings, bolts, lockers? I'm trying to understand what you're saying. I have a Prorock 60 front and Pro 60 rear under my rig, but they used Ford F-350 components almost everywhere on them. Help me understand.

Honestly guys I get it. Dynatrac is a forum advertiser and really they do build great products. This kind of banter is why I didn’t ask the forum how or what to choose. It’s fine to be faithful to a company you know and trust. I simply asked for personal experience from others who have chosen a similar path/product. This constant derailment of topics and frankly very biased opinions is really getting to be too much for a lot of people. It is unfortunate. I have met and become friends with some great people here. Honestly though sometimes the tactics get to be a little too much and then people stop sharing their experiences. Anyway obviously this is going in the wrong direction so I’ll just figure it out on my own. See you on the trails my friends. [emoji482]

Lol I simply asked a question. It appears as though you cannot answer.

Congrats on your new axles. Good luck to you.

Can’t speak for Fusion, but I’m very happy with the Dynatrac 60/60 package under my Jeep. There customer service is awesome, and I honestly couldn’t imagine going with another company for an axle purchase. I have the 3.6 with 5.38’s and 40’s and can cruise at 80 on the freeway with ease. Not sure what Fusion offers for a drag link and tie rod, but if it’s not high steer than I don’t think it’s worth the extra price.

This is where your logic falls flat. It’s such a new product that hardly anybody is going to have experience with it, however dyantrac, forum sponsor or not, is a PROVEN axle system.

This is correct. All their axles are ground up. I just ordered a second set from Dan for the scrambler. Dan really does take an interest in your project, and being a smaller builder, takes time with his clients to do it right. Not only that, but he stands completely behind them and is always available if you have questions long after the install. Not saying Dynatrac is not very much the same, just a larger company. Both great.

If this is how fusion continues to do business I can see them becoming a very well respected company. Until I see some real world testing and longevity reports on their axles though I would still lean toward dynatrac.

Yeah sorry that was pretty long. Just wanted to get it over with in one post. Lol! Like I said nothing against Dynatrac. They just came in second. Trust me it wasn’t an easy decision.

If vendors don’t want your business and/or aren’t able to sell you on their product then you should go with someone that does. Interested to hear your evaluation of the new axles.

I agree, there is a bit of risk with a younger company. I can only speak of mine and a few other I’ve seen, but we’ve all had great experiences to date.

Few shots of the front axle for those interested. Pretty happy with how they turned out. Great looking welds. Strong heavy brackets. Love the diff cover and Kingpin set up. Install should be happening next weekend. I was going to do it today but had a wheel problem to solve so putting it off until next weekend. I am ready to get back out on the trails. Been too long I'm getting fat sitting around at home.

Those axles looks massive. Fusion does a great job on their builds. Congrats

Thanks man! Massive is the right word. Pictures don't do them justice. I can't wait to get everything together and installed. The wheel problem was a slight setback but fixable. Glad I tried them before I had the axles bolted on. Apparently they "forgot" to bore the centers out on the wheels when they drilled them. Doh!
