Not sure if that is better or worse than the Beltway Sniper Attacks from 2002 (one of the rare serial or mass murders in which the shooter wasn’t white).

I've read that a LOT of the firearms used in Chicago are purchased or stolen in Indiana. I'd have to dig to find it, but that's what I've read in the past.

The Columbine shooting was on April 20, 1999, while the ban on AR-15 platforms were in effect.1 8-year-old Harris and his 17-year-old partner Dylan Klebold obtained these weapons illegally. The ban did nothing to prevent them from obtaining the weapons. You take one tool away from bad people but they will find another, Timothy James McVeigh used a rented Ryder truckt full of diesel fuel and fertilizer in the1995 Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people and injured over 680 others.

The Tokyo subway sarin attack was an act of domestic terrorism perpetrated on 20 March 1995, in Tokyo, Japan.

On the evening of 14 July 2016, a 19-tonne cargo truck was deliberately driven into crowds of people celebrating Bastille Day on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France, resulting in the deaths of 86 people and the injury of 458 others.

Saturday 21 July 2018, Ten people were injured, three seriously, when a man armed with a kitchen knife attacked passengers on a crowded bus in the northern German city of Lübeck.

Bottom line it is not the tools fault, there are extremely bad people in the world, that need to be hung. I have no compasion at all for people like this, and I mean none. I say bring back public hangings. Tired of people blaming guns for the issues going on. Guns have been part of America's history since the begining. Why now do we have these mass shootings by young white males (mostly). I will give you one reason, parents stopped bing parents, they want to be their kids best frined, that is why. We don't spank are children anymore, we allow them to talk back, without getting a slap in the mouth. Instead we say they are expressing themselves, bullshit they are being little shits, We, have created a culyure when they are growing up that they get a trophy for losing. Sorry, when you lose you dont earn shit, you learn how to deal with disappointment. You train harder , work harder and study harder to be on the winning team next time. We blame teachers for kids getting bad grades, instead of blaming the chil for not doing their homework or studying instead of being on their dam cell phone or video game.

We over diagnosed these children with ADHD and put them on all kinds of drugs, such as Ritalin (methylphenidate) not knowing the long term effects. My kids were not allowed to have cell phones while growing up, they did not get a cell phone until they moved out of my house, video games were not allowed in their room and they only got to play for 2 hours on the weekend. Other then that they were studying, playing outside on their bikes or with friends. My kids are now 21, 22 and 27. they all have college degrees and are all in the Military. 2 are Marines, and one Air Force, oh and they all own Jeep Wranglers. I am so tired of parents wanting the government to raise their children instead of them. I see parents bing watching T.V and not spending any time with their kids. Oh, all my boys were Boy Scounts and 2 made Eagle Scout. I was a Scout Master for 12 years and my wife a Cub Master for 16 years. I became a Scout Master and leader to spend time with my sons and go camping and hiking. That is the cure for ADHD, not drugs. Kids sit in their dam bedrooms all day playing video games and playing on their phones that they dont know how to inter eact with society and deal with disappointment, they think they should be the center of attention. They never release that pent up energy, kids don't play outside hell they dont even have gym class anymore.

Hell, I remeber going to school with rifles hanging in the back of pick ups during hunting season.

Then they grow up and wonder why they cant function in the real world, when they find out their opinion real doesn't matter. I remember my Grandfather telling me Kids should be seen not heard. Every kid needs a good old country ass whooping once in a while to. Spare the Rod, Spoil the Child.

Ok, I will get off my soap box. My last thing, stop blaming guns, start blaming parents.

This was on CNN and the Mayor of Chicago trying to place blame on more conservative Republican states. It is a way to shift blame instead of addressing it. Let's blame someone else so we dont have to address it.

It wasn’t a quote. I wasn’t watching CNN. It was a chart making its rounds of where the firearms come from. Regardless of the opinions on where fault lies, the facts are the facts. I’ve yet read any dispute on the 60% figure.

They can hash out blame all they want. I’m not into the twitter war BS. Parts of Chicago are a Fn mess. I’m sure fingers can be pointed in all directions.

Why not make the laws the same across all states. Have better enforcement of those laws and harsher penalties/jail time, whatever, if you break the existing gun laws.

Cruz is a POS with no spine. But that’s a whole other topic.

Saw this headline as well. Need to read more on how exactly he got his firearms. Dodged the system? Loophole? It’s getting pretty fucking ridiculous though with all these shootings and just violence in general.

Our society needs some serious anger management and civility training. And we can start right at the top and work through each branch of government first.

"A man who recently served time for attempted murder allegedly killed eight children and injured two others who were attending their first day of school in China, police said." Just on the news. A knife was used. This happened today.

Hmm. I think it starts much younger and lower level than any government. Parents need to parent and be better examples for their children.

I disagree, top down never works, it has to start in the home, the communities. With parents acting like parents and not catering for their children and giving them everything they want. Teaching them about respect for others, their elders and authority. Seems like everyone with a gopro wants to become a youtube sensation by making everyone else look bad, icluding the police, fire fighters and all first responders. Social media has destroyed humanity.

Government can't force people to act a certain way, that has to be taught through the home, family values, ethics and integrity.
