Went to Pu’u Wa’awa’a with my youngest sons Cub Scout pack. Late last night thus granite crystal JTR showed up. I guess there’s a new Jeeper in the pack! Stoked!

No but it is beautiful. They don’t build them like they used too.

People used to know how to build indeed.
I just got back from Italy and I have to tell you that Piazza Del Duomo in Florence is something that will change your architecture comprehension forever. It is hard to believe that such structure could be built back in 13-14 century. From what I know till this day architects and scientists all over the world can’t figure out how Filippo Brunelleschi was able to construct something so unique which weighs around 40k ton. Simply amazing IMG_4629.jpg IMG_4630.jpg IMG_4631.jpg

They had a much higher standard for "Craftsman" than we do.

They were also not in as big of a hurry all the time.

Somewhere along the line I think we lost our way a bit.

It is truly amazing and pictures will never do it justice! I’m intro see what they do with Norte Dame after the fire. They could never recreate it which is sad. But the concepts I’ve seen have an interesting blend of modern and historic.

Indeed the word “craftsman” or “artisan” our days is lost.
I truly hope they can recreate Notre Dame especially with the funds they got for it. Glad I could see it in person few month before it burned.

These buildings look so amazing even in photos. Must be a bit more impressive to actually view them!

It’s insane when you look at the craftsmanship that went into them.

Could you imagine the cost to build that now?

It's amazing that this and others were built 700 years ago. Nowadays buildings (other than university buildings and hospitals) get slapped up and look like hell in 10 years.
