Coilover rebuild question

Looking for some help on my bolt on coilover rebuild. On my back bolt ons when I press down on the shaft it will pop right back up even though I removed the nitrogen and the valve stem. I don’t remember my fronts doing that when I rebuilt them last year. It kind of makes me weary of tearing them down as I have seen what a little pressure can do. Anyone know if this is normal? Could there still be nitrogen pressure trapped in the reservoir? Thanks guys!
