Earlier in the year, Cindy and I got a chance to test out one of the very first sets of 42" Nitto Trail Grapplers and on our Jeep JT Gladiator. Unfortunately, we weren't able to keep them being that they belonged to our good friend Mel over at EVO Manufacturing but it did give us a chance to see what all would need to be done, to get them clear. And, while Nitto was nice enough to send us a set of our very own, we weren't able to get them installed or at least, not until now. The problem was, we simply couldn't find a set of 20" beadlock wheels anywhere! In fact, if it weren't for Lisa working her magic, I think we'd still be waiting to buy a set KMC Grenades. Needless to say, this video highlights our Gladiator getting back up on 42's and we hope you like what you see.

40's and 42's are made in Japan and I should note, these were made with some kind of new balancing system. They literally don't even come with alignment marks like you find on regular tires. Just for kicks and giggles, I had them balanced at my local Discount Tire shop and one didn't require any weights. One took very very little and the others took about as much as a small car tire would take. Essentially, these are extremely round tires in spite of their big ass size.

The Trail Grapplers in 35 that I got the beginning of October were made in Japan

Having the same set up as Eddie I can attest to getting the spare down isn’t bad, gravity does the work.

Getting the spare back up on top of the rack is definition of SUCK…..
