D44 Ball Joint and Knuckle upgrade questions.

I don’t want to get into the Chest Pumping argument... just an honest question here:

If that style of joint is better... why don’t Big companies like Spicer, Dynatrac, Currie, Carbon, EVO, Synergy etc... run them? Or do they? There has to be a negative.. safety, exposure to elements, longevity... ?
They are selling what the majority know about. At least that's my opinion. Why don't you ask them? If FCA or Ford or GM or any other co who makes products for the consumer, started putting king style in their front axle knuckles, 95% of the Wrangler buyers, would stop buying Wranglers because they never leave the asphalt. Ask racers what they use.
BJ's have movement which is easier on the driver. King pin style has no movement so the driver feels more road. Bumps, holes etc. Consumers do not want that.

You need a better sales pitch then "im just here because I don't care what you think and I'm bored and they are more exspensive because real life macheeen chop."
I am not selling anything. Someone asked, I responded. I don't care what you folks do, I care about me, but like to help if someone asks.

Exactly my point. If we just needed knuckle hinges all this time some one was over engineering this shit.

Those companies you list...are not 'big', except for Spicer. And Spicers customer service is next to none like other conglomerates. It takes R&D, and $$ to set up for machining and the other things that come with manufacturing. Not all of them want to do it. Why would they when they can sell thousands of fucking ball joints?

Why did they stop putting kingpins in the superduties?

Frankly I am responding here out of boredom because I really could give a fuck what many of you think.;)
I think the expression you are looking for is “couldn’t give a fuck.”

Because most people buy rigs and never maintenance them so they wear out. A maintenanced king pin will outlast any ball joint.
What is your answer...because I figure your question was rhetorical?
Does a King Pin put more stress on the knuckles? So if you throw a King Pin into a D44... is there a risk of knuckle failure?

No. Unless you are referring to the aluminum steer knuckle. I threw mine in the trash.
Check out Genright. Notice...they don't sell ball joints. Why do you think that is? They use Currie axles.

Genright doesn't make ball joints that's why they don't sell them. You expect them to sell Terraflex, Dynatrac or Synergy?

Yes. They sell Currie axles and Currie puts Bj's in it. Read again, I said Genright doesnt sell ball joints.

I don’t know how thats relevant... My point is all the Name Brand guys use Ball Joints in their 44’s (see thread title) and just because some dude in a machine shop builds a drop in kingpin... doesn’t mean its safe or a good idea.. and until at least ONE of those companies put that shit on their axle... I wouldn’t even consider it. But that’s just me.

Speaking of Genright I saw that they got a set of the ball joint deletes early last year for KoH, I haven’t seen any updates on if they liked them or even recommended them.

edit: Just gives off a few red flags to me, how talks about trying them out went virtually silent. (Unless some had an update from them).

It went South immediately after my first response. It's because Im not one of the 'Wayalife kronies'. If you ever mention anything other than 'what every one else here does', you'll get flack. All good Im use to it. Was never a 'follower'.
LOL - my friend, you really need to lighten up. Trailhunter was clearly referring to the innuendo behind "BJ" and was just trying to be funny. And really, short of sounding like a "wayalife cronie", all this really started to go south because you got your panties in a bunch over a whole lot of nothing. If you're happy with what you're choosing to run, awesome! No need to defend it like your manhood is at stake. I can assure you, none of us could give a shit. (y)
