Critter Tread - Trapping

I also decided to not worry about bumping deer by setting traps. I did however only set traps here. The area I hunt is very close by but i don't have to walk through it to get to the trapping area. Hours after setting these traps, 2 different deer came through my hunting spot at separate times so hopefully I can continue trapping and not even worry about it.

I have cameras on all my traps but still physically check them every day. I've had several times where I've caught something with no motion trigger by the camera. Here's this morning. Bastard lucked out, it got him on his upper hind. Pretty much the thickest part of his leg. No blood. I released him and he ran off fine. I'm surprised his weight set off the trap.

Someone abandoned this pup on our property. Trying to catch her in a live trap we borrowed from one of the local Sherrifs departments. We’ve been putting food out and she’s been eating every day. I set up the trap this morning and put the food just in the opening to get her acclimated to the cage. Any tips or tricks appreciated. She’s super afraid of people our guess is she has been abused so we’ve got our work cut out for us once we catch her. If we can’t keep her we’ll find a good home but it’s too cold here to let her just live in the woods. IMG_4118.jpeg
