Buddy update.
I thought he was going to be ok.
Vet talked to a specialist, she just told me they can do tests and give him chemo, but after all that he gets 4 -12 months. If we do nothing the time frame is the same. The type of cancer he has is just deadly.
So, no chemo, that just kills him in a different way. I’ve accepted this, with hope they’re wrong.
I’ll give him pain meds to help him through this.
He’s a great dog, very special. God help him.

Very much so. It does suck a bunch to lose a pet but knowing how we feel and how sad we are when we lose one I’m kind of at peace with us dealing with it vice a beloved pet wondering what the hell happened to his master when we go first. And always waiting for us to come back through the door.

I am now tasked with explaining to Thena that she will not become a Jeep Dog by eating Jeep parts. She chewed a brand new replacement transfer case shift cable. I cannot get another before we leave for Moab the day after tomorrow

Doing some preliminary research. Now that I’ve had a bigger pad for a couple months, and very close access to the complex’s dog park and larger open space park up the street from my place, I’ve really been wanting another furry friend since my German shepherd passed a year and a half ago now. The question is, which breed?
I’ve got a lot more free time thanks to a great 5 on, 2 off, 2 on, 5 off schedule - only working 14 days a month (not including overtime shifts) and want to know what you guys think I should be looking at.
Obviously, I would love another German Shepherd but my increased time has me considering something like a Border Collie or something else of the like. Let me know what you guys think and if you are in or have been in SoCal where to look!
