the only difference if I'm not mistaken is the NW has a back lit face plate, the ltd doesnt. and yes, it's a tad better if you intend on tuning it.

I have the cobra 29 ltd and its very large. Also the mirror on the 12+ JK is very thick. If you keep the mirror in the stock location it'll be VERY tight and take some modifications to the cab bracket to get it all to squeeze in there. Its a great CB but not little and easy to get into places the smaller CBs would fit into. All that said I'd still choose my 29 all over again.

Ya it looks like it will be tight, i just wanted to know if it can be done and if the plasic would hold it if i make some small brakets!

Andrew....I have a version of the 29...it is big, but really puts out and is easy to tune. Not sure how your center console is, but I was able to bury mine in there (2010 model). Here is a something I posted in the CB install thread.

Had my cobra 29 lx le installed above the dash on the rugged ridge organizer. Didn't mind it there, buy was concerned as warm weather approaches. Today I had to removey center console to replace my e-break and noticed some room. I cut the bottom out of the locking storge and was able to slide it in. The screws that hold it in are hidden under the console, so you have to break the console open to break it out of you want to steal it. Not fool proof, but a lot more work for someone looking for a quick grab. I will be wiring in a extension for the mic plug, that way I can plug my mic into then dash or console someplace that's more convenient than under the are rest. It takes up about have the storage, but most of what I had in there wasn't all that valuable. Gained some more piece of mind when parking topless and/or doorless. Here's a quick look, before installing in the jeep. I will update photos when I wire in the external speaker and remote mic plug in.
