Twill Trektop NX vs Trektop NX & Evo half doors

I've been debating over these 2 tops for awhile and I just received some cash to make it happen. My question for you guys is would you rather get the regular Trektop and have some cash to get the Evo half doors or would you splurge for the twill version and postpone the half doors for later. Go!

Get the twill and save for the Strike Force Zebra half doors. According to their FB and IG, they might even come out with uppers.

I say you get the twill. It's such a nice fabric and I have heard that it is actually a little quieter due to it being a thicker material

If I get the twill, I might just sell off the hard top too. That could fund some half doors as well. Not 100% on that yet.

Curious as to the difference in sound level between a Trektop and factory hardtop. Love the twill top but I really like the quiet of the hardtop. Is there much of a difference?

I just sold my hardtop and am waiting on my trektop nx to arrive.. And have been curious on the same comparison I'm anticipating a lil more noise on windy days and or highway speeds

I sold my hardtop and got the twill trektop about 1.5 years ago. The twill trektop looks so awesome I never plan on putting a hard top back on my jeep. I had the twill full soft top also, the twill trektop is quieter than that, but a little bit louder than a hardtop. The material is just so nice, rich black inside and outside, dirt and mud tend to wash off pretty easy too. The only downside is you lose the functionality of a flip up back window, and fully securing your jeep since the windows can be cut or zipped off. I like the trektop so much though, that I am willing to accept those down sides. Oh, and I have never had a single water leak! Love this top!

I'll be moving to Alaska so I'm keeping the hardtop and getting an Nx. The twills are very nice and honestly slightly less noisy than a hard top to me. But since I'm seasonal I can't justify the extra cash, plus anchorage has a very high crime rate and the twill would just make me more pissed when someone slashes it.

My experience wasn't the same with the nx trektop, even though I like the fast back look I couldn't put up with excessive wind noise and water leaks. I've got a 2 and 5 year old and the decibels measured were over 100+ at 70 mph to the point I'm worried about hearing damage on the little ones on our 2hour trips to grandmas. I would suggest you get it but at place that is friendly with returns if your not able to jump in a jeep with one on before you buy it. I'm taking a hit on 15% restocking fee which is well over $100 bucks through Northridge 4x4, lesson learned... Hardtop is substantially quieter

I should be receiving my nx in the next day or so and hopefully I can give input on noise level here on idaho it gets windy often. To the point if I'm headed into the wind the freedom panels will flutter in the middle where they join together and occasionally if the wind is right get a nice whistle... I added some cheap weather seal to kinda help snug the top down a lil more and it helped.. Im thinking with the nx it will be equal or better since the header bar is all one piece unlike the freedom panels of the hardtop... But I guess I'll find out and can maybe give a better comparison after I install

I went from a hardtop which I still have, and went with the twill nx. I didnt want to spend the extra cash on the twill, but just the deeper black color alone was a deciding factor for me, even more so the more refined and finished looking interior of the top really helps as well. I have had no leaks whatsoever, but the top does fit a little funny up front but I think thats more to my cage than anything. Like something shifted but its all good. Sound level is only a little louder I feel from the hardtop vs the trektop from what I can tell so far. Part of me still wants a standard twill top however due to the back windows can still be a real pain to get all zippered up and together untill you figure out the perfect way to get it all back on.

I just installed my NX Twill yesterday. The look is amazing with the dark black! Initial impressions are that it's slightly louder than the hardtop, but not too bad. I can't comment on leaks yet, but I'll update if it becomes an issue. I'm keeping the hardtop for the winters, not because I'm worried about the cold, but because I've previously found plastic windows a pain to keep clean without scratching them once the salt starts coming out.

Also, fwiw I've read the twill material is easier to install because it doesn't stretch out as much. I've never had the other, but the install of the twill was fairly easy on a 70 degree day.
