GraniteCrystal build thread

I really love the wheel/ tire combo you've selected. My only concern is mounting the spare on the LoD tire carrier.

I am currently running the factory Rubicon wheel/ tires and my mounting bracket is the furthest out that I could get it while still being able to use 4 bolts. In theory, more off set and wider wheel would require the bracket to be pushed out even more, thus only allowing you to line up 2 bolts, one on each side?

Here's a picture of my bracket setting for the stock wheel/ tire combo. IMG_8597.JPG

Thanks for pointing that out and thinking thru it with me.

Factory Rubicon wheels are 6.25" backspacing so these new ones have over an inch less backspacing than those. That means that bar you show will move in, not out.

Am I missing something?

I'm sorry, I was under the impression the factory wheel was 4.5

My fault. I'm still new to jeeps and for some reason had that number in my head for back spacing.

If the factory wheel is 6.25, you are right. The bracket will move in, not out like I thought.

I'm building a granite crystal and might go with the same wheel tire combo you are running.

False victory. Plan was to ride with one on my lap. Turns out that doesn't work so well. Looks like it'll be two trips to DT. Glad they're not far away.
