GARDENING Thread

I know I posted this before but the 5' tiller we have is really all you need unless you're going big.

That isn't too bad of a price. A new one will set you back about $2100.

You planning on hilling as well?

IDK if I'm going to or not. Kinda depends if I do some kind of half-assed irrigation system. I'm also looking at 500 or 1000 gallon water tanks to bury & collect rainwater. I've usually left everything flat but also hate weeding so Im looking to do something different.
I may end up with a combo of some raised beds and hilled rows. I need to sit down in January and plan this all out

Raised beds are so easy. We have too many weeds back here on the east coast. We will do in ground in a high tunnel but raised beds in the main garden all the way.

Thats the downside. If I go all in with a tiller I'm stuck with some kind of weed barrier or weeding my brains out
IDK. I may do the beans & peppers in raised beds and tomatoes & others in rows with a barrier. I need to do a planting plan...

Really need to get back to the big garden again this year. Looking on marketplace for a 5' 3-point rototiller for the tractor so I can do all my own tilling & mixing in old compost. Seed catalog just got here. Kind of a pain to have to buy it but I prefer to leaf through catalogs for some things instead of trying to flip through a website and this one is very well done. I used to buy exclusively from these guys and always found their quality to be excellent. Plus it's all non-GMO & heirloom seeds.

Nice! I love flipping through seed catalogs. I'll have to give them a look.
