Introduction & Modification List

About Me:

At a young age, I was always surrounded by Jeeps as my father and uncle worked at our local dealership. He seemed to have a new one every year. I always drooled over seeing them. We took many camping trips, but most to Silver Lake Sand Dunes. I immediately knew what my first vehicle was going to be. I purchased a 1997 Jeep XJ completely stock with less than 60K miles at the age of 15. I was incredibly proud of myself to save the money and purchase it on my own. Before I could even drive it I was already modifying it. I knew then that I was Jeeper for life. After graduating high school, I had a long commute to college and it just wasn't working for the trips back and forth all the time. I regrettable sold it an purchased a diesel truck. I was on a kick for a while thinking that that is what I actually wanted. My dad stopped working for Jeep and came back to work with me at our family business, a marine. Having a diesel was just a convenience having to tow boats around all the time. As time progressed we purchased new trucks for the business specifically, so i sold my truck in search of my next dream vehicle. I have no idea how I ended up with a 2015 Subaru WRX STi, but it happened. Needless to say, a whole lot of money went into that project and not so much happiness came out. I did it all up making great HP/TQ numbers, but it just wasn't me. So I sold it and purchased an older diesel to get me around until I found what I truly wanted, another Jeep. Then yesterday (12/20/2016) I received a text from my uncle to come to the store immediately. I then laid eyes on my new beautiful Jeep. I purchased instantly and will not regret it in the least. I look forward to the progress that will be made with it and cannot wait for the years to come. I look forward to meeting some of you at events in the future! I have been hooked on Eddie's videos and the build threads section on here so I have a feeling it won't stay this way long, especially with my past history with vehicles.

Dealership Pictures from Day of Purchase

I bought this 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon at my local dealer from my uncle the day the trade arrived on the lot. It has 22,269 miles. It is a one owner (older lady) who was local to my area. She ordered it new. She always got serviced at the dealer. I am very happy with the purchase and cannot wait to see what's in store for it in the future.

BMV Trip

Well I went to the BMV today to get my plates. To my surprise they had gotten rid of the designed plate I wanted. It matched the colors of the Jeep. But they did get a new standard plate that was much better than the old one. I have posted a photo below. I also knew I was going to get a custom plate. I tried to get what we named the Jeep (Rubi) but it was already taken. So I tried Rubicon, which was taken. We tried with numbers in place of letters, nothing. At this point I wasn't sure what to get. Then I figure why not try WAYALIF. I am not trying to copy but I figured if it is available in my state, why not! So we tried and success! It was available. I hope this plate looks good on the back of Rubi. More updates to come soon. It is my birthday Saturday and I asked for lots of Jeep stuff! Lol :clap2:

Ordered the Lift and Shocks

Well, I ordered my lift and shocks for the Jeep. Got 2.5 Fox DCS Remote Reservoir for the front and 2.0 Fox CD Remote Reservoir for the rear with a EVO HD Leveling Kit. That should be plenty for all the dunes enjoyment I am about to have this year. I need to take pictures of everything that I have installed so you guys can see it. The Baja Designs Fog Light Kit for the Rubicon X bumper is amazing. Fits like a glove and lots of adjustability of positioning the light. Has been working great in this crappy foggy weather we have been having. Pictures will come soon I promise!!

Updated Picture Post & Suspension Update

Got everything in the mail for my suspension upgrade except for the 2.5 Fox Shocks for the front. I also got my CB Kit in the mail from Cooltech. Need to get that installed soon. I also updated a lot of pictures from my phone to the picture post. I need to get some better ones of all the lighting stuff. It is hard to take to pictures of lights while driving with a smartphone lol. Also, need to get better picture of my gun holster mount. Hope to have some more updates soon but I am currently rebuilding my pop-up camper for trips this year. Need to get that done by April.

Good looking build so far. I really like the Rigid reverse lights.

I have a hard time seeing at night, so these really are awesome. Thanks for the input! Looking forward to some events this year!

Wow! Lot of detail went into this haha. Great looking Jeep! :thumb:

Thanks. I am very organized being a programmer. Plus I had two years to perfect this with my thread for my Subaru and my Cummins. I appreciate the response!

First Trip to Silver Lake Sand Dunes for Opening Weekend 4/1-4/3

Well.... I am sorry for not uploading like I normally do. I guess I just was busy with life. Updates as follows:

All the suspension is installed and the shocks are adjusted after my trip to Silver Lake.
I need to re-adjust my headlights and fog lights because of the lift.
I ordered a Superchips Flashpaq F5 3874 Tuner and 1.5" Wheel Spacers yesterday.

Before my next trip anywhere I have a short list of stuff I really want to get done:

1. Sand and repaint spare tire carrier from where I cut the light off
2. Get new black screws for tail light covers
3. Repaint tail light covers
4. Get four new washers for flush mounted rigid lights that actually fit right
5. Re-adjust headlights and fog lights
6. Rewire new 7-pin trailer connector
7. Wire an ESP kill switch
8. Wire the Locker bypass mod
9. Get CB installed

Other than that the Jeep has been great. Performed okay at Silver Lake. I think the tuner and the ESP kill switch will help a lot. I have put some pictures/videos of the trip. Also going to invest in a go pro and some camera equipment for our next trips. We may be doing some two-tracking on some back roads as well, so that should be fun.

Before the trip after I got the shocks and leveling kit on:

Driving up the entrance trail to the dunes:

Right after the entrance you are greeted with "Test Hill" (Photos don't do it justice):

Sitting on the top of Test Hill looking at the rest of the hills and Lake Michigan on the far right:

Me and my uncle's truck on Test Hill:

Some kids wrote it in the sand earlier in the day:

Nothing special but I got my girlfriend to get out and grab them:

Caught the Bug
Thank you! I appreciate it. Still not quite where I want it. And I got up this morning and the passenger side was leaking water. So I will have to figure out what that is now.

My top has been leaking too. With all this rain we have been getting in this area, I'm sure my floor is wet now.

Looking good so far, keep it up! I do have to say, I think there is something in the bylaws of the site that if you have a wayalife plate, you are required to run dana 60's, 40 inch tires with a DTD suspension... especially if the Jeep is painted Moby white. They've been lenient on the whole LS motor thing so far, but I heard they may start cracking down. Just thought you should know. :D

I may not get the Dana 60s and 40s but the DTD isn't out of the question. I mostly run dunes and back roads so I know it would be great for that. I'd be more into a Hemi swap if I did one lol I'm a mopar kind a guy. Always loved old chargers and challengers.
