Over the years, Rubicon Express has had a hard time and had fallen out of favor for a myriad of reasons. For those of you who've been around for a while, you'd know that I didn't help their cause at all when it came to their radius arm kit. However, over the last couple of years, I have seen them make a solid push to shape up and deliver products worthy of who they used to be, a manufacturer of good products. Well, at the 2014 SEMA Show, I was pleased to see that they are still working hard at this and on the Jeep JK Wrangler they had on display, I found a host of new products worthy of being noted.
First up and most noteworthy was their all new bolt-on coil over kit. This new kit comes with Fox coil overs AND true air bumps (as opposed to foam in a can) and are said to offer 12" of travel up front - just like the EVO bolt on coil over kit. Second, they were showing off their front 4-link long arm setup with a new rear 3-link setup that utilizes their rear radius lower arms and uses a new 3rd link that either bolts up to the top of a G2 rear axle or, installs on a truss. Third, you will see that this Jeep is also sporting Rubicon Express skid plates, Smittybilt raised tube fenders kinda like what you see with MetalCloak and new Smittybilt bumpers that come with what look like plastic cutting boards bolted on to the face of them.
