I'm using the aFe dry pro - I think it's the pro 7, I like it and has held up well over the last year or so, I think I've had it just over a year

I would just stay with a stock intake and stock air filter. IMO, if the filter is made to breath easier, its gonna have to let more debris through into the engine as a trade-off...I'll stick with a stock air filter.

Correct. 100% Stock. Paper filter flows less air than cotton or synthetic but catches more crap... so there is the tradeoff.

The only dyno test I have seen of a CAI was one provided by the manufacturer and it showed a 17 hp gain with an intake AND an exhaust. On a 5k lb vehicle that doesn't seem like much of a gain per $ to me.

I've seen pulls done with a blown 3.6 that made 330 HP at the wheels. Now THAT is a gain, of course it costs 6k or so...
