I finally got some time to tinker with my Jeep. Mocked up the steering gear

Nothing but the Beef for my build! Sam’s Offroad flat pitman arm. This is the 4th one I have used in a build.

Since your steering box is level you uses flat pitman? Looks beefy as heck

Since I am building my chassis from scratch I can place my steering gear in an ideal situation that a flat pitman arm works. Most people when they lift a factory vehicle, the have to get a drop pitman arm because the steering box placement was for a stock ride height.

If my chassis was higher, My box would be lower accordingly.

I finally got some time to mess with my own Jeep again. I drilled the holes for the cage feet and cut the CJ7 hardtop in half. Not much, but a lot more than I have done in the last few months.

I also got a pair of Summit rebranded Holley manifolds to try them out. I am going to stick with the OEM truck manifolds. The truck manifolds put the output out closer to the frame and away from the line of the driveshaft. I’ll get some new aftermarket non-EGR ones.
