Backup light upgrades?

Another great find...and this time for the fog lights...think I might have to have these as well!

Cajun..have any pics of these installed in the fogs?

Thanks!

Great upgrade. I got the bulbs off of Amazon and they work great! I did have a loose bulb base/socket on my passenger side that I had to fiddle with to increase the clamping or holding pressure. The new bulbs are heavier than the standard so I hope they stay in the sockets. Anyway, thanks for the the great tip.

I got my new LED reverse lights in yesterday so I installed them at night :) Here's the link to the lights: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181125910961?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

And heres the pictures...at first I installed them backwards so they didn't work (dumb on my part) but now they're working great and are bright as hell! I like them a lot. I still want to put either a 20" single row light bar back there or some single row driving lights (James knows what I'm talking about).

I did the 3157 light bulb switch and was not happy with it. That I'm blind as a bat does not help. Wound up adding the Rigid fog to the rear and is much better.

It looks like you have no rear bumper like me. Can you take a daytime pic of how you mounted them so I can see? For now I've got two mounts for Pods (knockoff Duallys) on my hitch that I know would work great but they will barely stick out lower than the hitch so they'd possibly get crushed. If you found a way to mount them to the cross bar between the frame that'd be terrific info to share. Thanks brother.

Just got mine in the other day. Love them.

However while I was hooking plugging them into the socket I had the rig in reverse and the ignition switch ON. This way I could tell if I had them in the right polarity. I had my shop stereo on at the same time and as soon as I plugged them in and they lit up, I started getting static over the stereo. I unplugged and re-plugged them several times and yes there is a bit of static coming from the FM band.
In the Jeep I only listen to XM/ Sirrius so I don't think it will be a problem. Note that this stereo was over 10 feet away from the back of the Jeep.

These are the ones I ordered---> 2x 3157 3156 White CREE Q5 + 12 5050 SMD LED Backup Light Bulbs PROJECTOR LENS

I'll take one and post it later this PM.

This might help you?

Yup, thanks dude. I'll probably have to mount mine that way too. Did you have to make the holes bigger or did you just get a longer bolt?

I drilled new holes through the bottom and enlarged them until I could fit a 1/2" socket up into the frame. Put the nut and washer through and tightened it.

Drilled from the top holes down to make sure the holes where aligned, not a bigger hole though. Yes longer bolts, Home Depot has then, just bring the one you already have and get longer ones that match. :thumb:

Just threw these on today. I have them as A pillars and they're pretty bright. Hopefully my back up camera becomes useful at night now -_-
