Ball joint removal and replacement

I watched some youtube and read through the dynatrac instructions. The instructions list the exact press part numbers that a guaranteed to work. No idea how much all that Miller stuff it.

It looks you need a ball joint press, the angled "jeep" adaptor, and the dynatrac recommended adaptor too.

I was thinking of this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002SRGXY/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1YWMNCHLS8LQG&colid=2GNHQJEKR9ONY
And this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002SRGW0/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I2QNGVXLYC2588&colid=2GNHQJEKR9ONY

And the dynatrac adaptor: Dynatrac Kit JP44-1X3050-B Dynatrac strongly recommends buying the additional installation kit. It is designed to work with most off the shelf press kits. The bushing kit provides a safe area to press on the ball joint bodies preventing damage to other components.

Here's the list of press parts from dynatrac:

Ball Joint Press Kit, Or Shop Press Equipment (Miller Kit – 6289)
o C-Clamp (Miller C-4212F)
o Press Tools (Miller, 6289-1, 6289-3, 6289-4, 6289-5, 6289-12, 8975-2) o Should order Miller tool 8975-2 separate from Kit – 6289

Edit- just the c-clamp is $309! https://www.toolsource.com/ball-joint-tie-rod-tools-c-433_546/ball-joint-press-p-114268.html

This looks like the "master" kit that was referenced in an earlier post, that has the angled adapters. https://www.amazon.com/Alltrade-648...d=1499197439&sr=8-8&keywords=ball+joint+press

Finally managed to get all the parts and tools together need to do this job.

And I cannot fault Dynatrac for the quality of these ball joints!!

The Install actually went really smooth without a single hitch!!

Impressed with how tidy and meticulous you are with this work. Good job. FYI, you can loan out the necessary tools for this job from Advance Auto Parts at no cost to you. They have the correct angled adapter. Just in case anyone is interested.

Great work! I’m glad you had a clean install.

It is always difficult doing ball joints, but going with Prosteers and the press that Dynatrac recommends makes it straight forward. Which is nice since you don’t have access to the parts stores that we do back in the U. S.
