Buying Used Nitto Trail Grapplers today...

Howdy All,

I'm going to be getting some used 35x12.5x17 Nitto Grapplers today and wanted any feedback on them. They are approx. 30-40% wear as stated by the owner. They appear to be warn even and will go on my JKU until I can find a better alternative and see how I like the 35" and my setup. They are measured at 34.5" right now per the owner and have never been patched/filled. I got him to agree on $80 for all four tires.

Here are some pics of the tires in their current state. I plan to pick them up today on my way to SF. I will also be running wheel spacers and my stock MOAB rims on my JKU. I have a 2.5" leveling lift on my JKU also and will eventually cut the fenders/pinch seam/front bumper. I just wanted to have a tire to fill the wheel well before I did. Right now I'm running stock 255/75/17 GY Wranglers. I will keep them as backups...Hopefully these Nitto's will get me through summer wheeling/camping/off roading.

Any issues you see or thoughts?

Personally I wouldn't do it. Yeah it's only 80 bucks but then unless you know someone to do it for free you have to mount and balance and those things are shot. I would just get a new set you will not regret that. I have feeling you'll regret not getting new 35s very shortly

it looks more like 80% wear. i wouldn't waste time on them.

Wow those tires are done! That's not 40% wear it's more like 90%. There isn't even any usable tread left on them. I have 20K miles on my tires and I would say they are at 50% tread. Also I find it very hard to believe that they measure 34.5" that's about what a brand new tire measures. Do yourself a favor and don't waste any time or money on those tires.

Hey Mike, after seeing the comparison pics, these guys are right. You don't want those tires. I replied to your text but for some reason (location?) it didn't send.
