Disconnected Sway Bar

I was wondering what you guys recommend doing with the sway bar when you're wheeling. Wasn't sure how much I needed to secure it once it's disconnected. Thanks in advance for any tips!

zip tie links to sway bar. tie/zip tie sway bar all the way up to keep it out of the way.

leaving it loose will let the sway bar work itself down and you'll start smashing parts into each other.

I have done zip ties before and they work just make sure you check them every so often as they will break, small rope is also good or a kit that has holders( usually mounts right near the front body mount)

I know it's not exactly the smartest thing to do, but one of the last times I went out, I didn't want to mess with securing it out of the way, so I just removed the whole thing. Been running it that way for about a month now.

i had the jks qucik discos so when i was disconnecting ont he trail you just remove the whole link. as far as the sway bar went i found that it i left it at normal ride height it wouldnt move nor hit anything. when i pushed it all the way up towards the grill my tires would hit it at full lock.

Certain quick disco kits come with a bracket thats frame mounted to retain your links. Not sure if your disconnecting stock links or if you already have aftermarkets.

Edit: my phone started working again and i now see you have jks..

The JKS quicker disco set came with a stud mount that goes to the frame on my TJ. Castaway bought them for his JK, and that version disconnects top and bottom and the link just goes on the floor in the jeep.

Ended up just going for some zip ties, worked perfectly! The idea of a bracket that some of you guys have mentioned does sound like it could be nice though. Probably holds the sway bar better and then you don't have to always have zip ties

I have brackets but the links rub with the tires when they are moved there. So I went zip tie route lol

Ah that stinks. I guess it probably is good to have as little as possible in that area. A lot of stuff moving around in a tight spot like that, having brackets and the links in there is just more stuff to run into

Yeah definitely. They would be fine but I need 4.5" of backspace, not even close with stock rims. But I'm getting new rims soon so maybe the brackets would work nicely then.
