Disintegration Warfare or Second World ‘Itis’?

AZVAJKU

Hooked
It’s might just be me, but the last several years it seems like a lot of the processes that should be occurring without fail in a First World Country can no longer be counted on to always take place. For example aircraft that work, space travel, Naval boats not running into each other or rocks and many other actions that we used to take for granted. Many of us have been blaming DEI or COVID or other factors but what if it’s more complicated than that? Here are two possibilities.

Disintegration Warfare.
Google is your friend on this but basically it’s a form of low intensity conflict used by a country to slowly grind down their enemies. China is big on this- so are we. Industrial sabotage, manipulation of financial markets and currencies, illicit drug distribution and many other subtle forms of destructive interference.

Or is it:

Second World ‘Itis’?
What factors make a Second World Country different than a First? Basically a smaller amount of the population in the Second World have the skills or motivation to produce and accomplish. The drive to make life better or working for a better future is not a driving force in most Second World Countries. Specifically does the majority of the population have this drive or just a few.

I’d like to know your opinions on this and any specific examples supporting your hypothesis.

I ran across this today.

The welding issue is a contractor issue but they won't talk about that.

Contractors, in a bid to increase profits, will cut every corner possible. They will use unqualified welders (less pay) they will use unqualified procedures (less cost) they will steer QA/QC away from the areas they are knowingly not following specifications and codes. They won't allow welding inspectors to do their full visual inspections throughout the welding process. They won't allow non-destructive testing (radio-graphic, ultrasonic, dye penetrate, magnetic particle) of welds.
Usually this all involves the Owners Inspectors (DoD) also not pushing for the specified inspections for the welds.

Shipwrights (ship builders) are held to a tighter and more stringent set of specifications and codes than even the Boiler Pressure Codes, which are bad enough on their own.

When I was a CWI I also was qualified for dye pen and mag particle, these two procedures are quite simple to do and show several weld deficiencies quite easily.

These coverups are done throughout all levels of construction and will be the undoing of the industry.

But again, generally it is a contractor trying to increase the profit margin. Usually gets blamed on the craftsmen.

In 1984 Bezmenov warned us it was happening.

So your vote is corruption which is a typical symptom of Second World-itis. Placing short term profit over the long term best interests of your Nation is a classic case of Second World-itis.

Slow day at work?

Government handouts for people not wanting to work and low wages paid to migrants instead of high wages paid to Americans. Whatever it is, government is to blame 100%.

Strongly agree and I see it firsthand. The Fed-Gov is responsible for the vast majority of our issues today. Almost nothing they do benefits us and almost all of their policies lead to greater problems, which in turn leads to additional legislation which leads to increased spending and causes more severe problems. It’s a vicious cycle and too many voters don’t understand it.

Not a slow day, was just waiting on a plane.

"The incident comes amid well documented concern over the availability of resources for the U.S. Navy as it faces expanding global threats, not only with the rising tumult in the Middle East, but as China seeks to assert itself militarily in the disputed waters of the South China Sea and around Taiwan.

Labor shortages in shipyards that have led to backlogs in ship production and maintenance, combined with shifting defense priorities, last-minute design changes and cost overruns have all combined to put the U.S. Navy behind China in the number of ships at its disposal.

Navy shipbuilding is currently in "a terrible state" — the worst in a quarter century, says"

Tell me covid and this administration is not part of the bigger agenda to destroy America as a superpower nation.

Given that not much is made in the USA any more (and quite a lot of made in China) it becomes increasingly difficult to build complex equipment using only parts made in the USA or by approved allies.
