Correct, muffler first, then resonator.
I cut about a 14" section out from the straight pipe after the muffler, then added the resonator in line using lap joint band clamps. The resonator is basically right next to the evap can; just roughly recalling from memory I'd say there was about a 3" gap left between resonator and the evap skid (and likewise about 3" between resonator and frame).
