Extended Fenders

I run the wide version of the Poison Spyder flares in aluminum. I’ve gotten used to the look and don’t mind it anymore but I’d prefer something more narrow. PA has fender laws so this was my best option. I previously had the flat plastic Bushwackers and got a warning from a township cop about having too much tread uncovered.

I run the bushwacker flat style flares, pro comp rock crawler 97's (3.75 inch backspace), and 35x12.5 nitto trail grapplers. These fenders cover all but about an inch of tire

I bet if you put a straight edge across your tire there would be a gap with the fender

This is a common misconception, check their website they are exactly the same width as stock front and rear.

He means there would still be tread sticking out, which for some us with fender laws is still illegal.

If that were true this thread wouldn’t exist.

I know guys with bushwackers that have nearly 1” sticking out with 5.25 BS and a 10.5 wide tire and you’re saying your fully covered with a stock width fender at 3.75 BS and 12.5 wide?

Anyone know of a fender that has +7 inches of rear coverage and +12" of front wheel coverage? I read the local rules wrong and need to cover the tread to pass state inspection.
Stock axles, 12.5 tires and 3.5 BS.

Borrow a set of stock wheels/ tires for inspection then swap back.

Stock 17s or larger will as far as the barrel clearance. Not sure if wheel spacer is needed or not.

Just get some of this and put it on the edge of the fenders for inspection and take them off.

I had the same problem in Germany, the laws are very strict due to the autobahn and the speeds people travel. I went with the Hurricane Fenders by Rugged Ridge because they were inexpensive and I plan on swapping them out later. Here are some pics with 35x12.5x17 tires.
