I'm of the opposing view... Shotgun is acceptable when the price is not prohibitive, the goal is to solve the problem and you really don't care about the cause. Plus, I'm at 100k miles and routinely replace original parts when suspect. But, that may be just me.I'd do what it says. Check the fuel filler neck and all connections. Sensors too. Shotgun is never good because you never find out what the problem was.
