Front seatbelt buckle question

Hey, I noticed in my Jeep that the drivers seat belt bucket is rigid and the passenger side is flexible. I’m talking about the bucket part attached to the seat.
And I noticed that the drivers seat belt doesn’t seem to fit the waist area very tight because of it.
Any idea why the drivers side is rigid and won’t flex at all?

Do you have a 2dr JK ? My JKU has the rigid seat belts on both sides in the front.

This. The two door is loose because of the way the seat folds forward.

If it doesn't fit your waist very tight, I've got a diet plan that will fix that lol
