They are all improvements over the last. 3 to 3+ was a better waterproof housing, audio improvement and truer blacks.

3+ to 4 brought image stabilization.

Below is a nice comparison chart I found on unsponsored. YouTube has a bunch of comparisons videos. But I’d suggest getting a cheap used one to see if you actually use it, and continue to do so.
