Grinding in the rear

Caught the Bug
On my way home from work yesterday the rear end area of my Jeep started grinding like crazy when I had my foot on the accelerator, since then it's only gotten worse but I don't believe it's my rear axle or driveshaft which leaves me with my transfer case. It's been buggy for the past couple years but I'm worried it's starting to chew itself up from the inside. Any thoughts?

Have you checked the pinion seal and bearing? Grab the axle side of the rear driveshaft and push it up and down. If there's any movement that could have gone out.

I checked that, no movement in the rear driveshaft except at the transfer case side. Rebuild kits are only like 150 so I might jump the gun on one of those for my transfer
