coffee pot pulls more than 1000w. If I were going with an inverter, I'd get a quality marine grade one. Personally I don't feel the need for one more powerful than the stock one which charges the kid's iPads. I have a gas stove for making coffee (MSR wind burner and pour through filter holder). I use cordless tools. I guess if you need to charge the tools on the road, then look at the wattage of the charger and plan accordingly.
