Help with LoD rear bumper/carrier linked to tailgate

Caught the Bug
Does anyone know of a write-up for the new LoD carrier linked to the tailgate? I started installing mine tonight and have found several issues. First of all the supplied washers for the frame rail holes are to big to put to washers side by side. Next the directions that didn't come with the carrier but are on line are quite limited. Next I can't figure out how to adjust the carrier to open far enough for the hardtop glass to open with the jack mounted on the carrier. Also the mounts for the jack supplied aren't tall enough and the bolts hit the frame before the jack is tightened to the rack. Also i don't see how the carrier is going to stop without bending or breaking something if the carrier swings open fast and hard. Maybe all these issues can be simply solved and i missing something or. Making a mistake. I really like the bumper just hoping it performs as good as it looks!

Just realized my pictures didn't come out very good. I'll post some tomorrow in the light.

Ok fist things first.

Washers for the rear bolts. You should have a flat rectangle piece that has two holes in it, that is for the lower rear bolts going through the frame that you drilled. The holes are big enough for the bolt to get through and allow for nuts to be pot on. I used grade 8 bolts with lock washers on mine.

Rear tire carrier opening. There is a connecting rod from the carrier to the gate. That will need to be adjusted. Also there are bumpers that look like are not installed. The keep the carrier from rattling and give it a snug fit. Try adjusting the pivot arm from the gat to carrier to get the right distance.

On the Hi-Jack mount I use the supplied hardware and mounts up nice. Might try using a small diameter washer and lock washer under the head. As for it impacting the hard top window I had to fine the sweet spot to get the clearance. Move the base towards the opened end of the gate to get your desired clearance.

Hope this helps
