Jeep almost caught fire!!!!

I was wheeling with a group today and my Jeep began to run hot. After turning it off and popping the hood to let it cool, it wouldn’t start back again. Turned out it was a loose cable...but then it started smoking. Turns out the wire for my rock lights was catching fire. Thankfully I caught it!

Nope. I didn’t wire it and it appears the person i had wire it didn’t do it properly. I’ll be getting the entire system wired correctly very soon

I’m very glad I caught it.

I’m honestly glad that it overheated and I’m glad it wouldn’t start back. Because if neither of those things had happened, I wouldn’t have even glanced at the battery

Glad you caught it in time! I had faulty wiring when I was in the midst of installing a sub years ago. The whole inside of my car filled with smoke [emoji51] good thing it was just melting carpet and a screw driver!

Very important as well as the correct size fuse for a wire. Too large of a fuse for a wire is almost as bad as no fuse.
