I don’t think there is a safety concern there. It looks like the carcass is in tact, and just the tread has chunked. Were you on rocks or spun on loose terrain?

Thanks! New to this type of issue so I feel better about it now. I don't know exactly when it happened, I have been out a couple times so it's definitely a possibility though.

These tires unfortunately do that a lot in my experience. I have the same ones and use them enough off road or on and some things gonna make them chunk.

KO2's chunk more than I thought they would since their marketing indicates a different compound to better control chunking.

Mine have a few spots but nothing to bad yet...
