What's the issue with welding to the frame? Too much heat for how thin the metal is?

From what I've seen, it's reallllly thin, so it will be super easy to burn holes in it while welding.

Most any aftermarket brackets are substantially thicker than the frame, so you would need to be cautious of how you work your pattern to get enough penetration on the thick side while not leaving a whole on the thin frame.

It’s so thin and heated making it high strength. I made some weld on sliders on my JL, I was really nervous they were going to tear at the welds. It’s not easy to weld 1/4” to what seems like 12ga steel. You actually weaken it with the welding heat. If I make some for my JT I will make large plates to reinforce the frame c where I weld the sliders.
