Matt’s Off Road Recovery.Who the hell is Matt?
That guy still around?Matt’s Off Road Recovery.
Sure is.That guy still around?
Getting rounder every day. That guy still around?
How?and fights to keep trails open.
He raises money for groups such as UPLA that fight against trail closures. When there was a deal proposed to sell Sand Mountain lands to developers in exchange for lands to be set aside for tortoise protection, he put the word out and rallied people to attend meetings and write to the BLM to oppose the deal. He also raises money for SAR.How?
LOL - because raising money for 501c3s and "awareness" campaigns have done a shit ton to save actual trails. Hell, there have been so many that have been saved by them, I can't even name a single one.He raises money for groups such as UPLA that fight against trail closures. Maybe so. It's been hard pushing back against the "Save the Planet" juggernaut lead by the weaponized federal government. Say what you want, UPLA is having a positive impact in Utah, especially in the Sand Mountain area. Yes, more can be done and we should do more. I know I should.LOL - because raising money for 501c3s and "awareness" campaigns have done a shit ton to save actual trails. LOL - bet you support USAID and all the NGOs they funded too. Sheesh - didn't take you for the gullible type but you're kidding yourself if you think ANY non-profit org is making ANY real difference in ANY state. There's just way too much money to be made trying to solve a problem to actually solve it. In the over 30 years that I've been doing this Jeep thing and professionally, I have yet to see A SINGLE trail or area be protected from whoever (tree hugger, military, etc) wanted it closed, PERIOD. All I've seen are guys like you churching up the talking points they're fed about how much good they do. If you think I'm wrong, PROVE IT.Maybe so. Hey we saved the hammers that way right.LOL - because raising money for 501c3s and "awareness" campaigns have done a shit ton to save actual trails. Hell, there have been so many that have been saved by them, I can't even name a single one.
If a group wants to close an area bad enough they will. Period. End of story. Like you said, no amount of “raising awareness” will do anything but move money from one pocket to another.LOL - bet you support USAID and all the NGOs they funded too. It's all about the money and really, I don't fault the non-profits for using "the cause" to make money. They're smart to do it especially being that there are so many gullible people willing to raise tax free money for them.If a group wants to close an area bad enough they will. Period. End of story. Like you said, no amount of “raising awareness” will do anything but move money from one pocket to another.
I agree, if the money wants an area closed or a land swap for development, it’s already decided before any group even hears about it. I’ve been a supporter of cal4 but am not renewing this year. Wasted money towards empty promises. It was the same with the NRA… they didn’t do shit. My dues were just going to some overhead salary. Quit them like 10+ years ago.LOL - bet you support USAID and all the NGOs they funded too.
