Direct copy/paste from MR.TY's post, and talking about their good CS (see KPIG's post), and then using the "game changer" line from their marketing.

Followed by a suggestion to sell and replace.


Note: I have never ran any MC parts, and have no feelings, good or bad, toward them or their products. Im of the mind that if they are in the industry because they love Jeeps, I hope they make good products and succeed, cause competition and quality parts means everyone wins.

But part failure is part failure, and should be handled as such. How they handle it will make a difference, but if the design hasnt changed, time to move along.

Anything can get broke or bent, does that automatically make it junk?
I guess I have been lucky, 4 years and trips to offroad parks all across the U.S.A., not to mention daily excursions to the offroad park buy the house.
Hell they outlasted my 1st jeep which finally died do to electrical issues, so I guess that makes Jeeps junk, and I should have never bought another one......
But I did and now the search for a new lift, control arm combo begins.

I did sell it, recently got another one. My point is if everything that I had that has been bent or broken is automatically junk I wouldn't have got another jeep.
I had good luck with lots of parts that some people have not and vice versa.
I enjoy researching on the forums about various components for my next jeep build.
But if I stayed away from everything that someone has had problems with there wouldn't be many things left to get out there.
Can't someone like a specific company without being a fanboy? What defines a fanboy, I'm not sure?
Am I a metalcloak fanboy, I guess,since I once had parts on my rig that didn't fail me. I have met a few of the guys that work for metalcloak and they were very pleasant to hang out with at Ejs 2014. Maybe they can learn from damaged components and figure it out from there. Trail and error is just part of the industry.


I had problems with my PR 44 when I got it, does that mean I will never get another one. No, it's on my list already.

Well online it says the warranty is only a year so I'm not going to bother. As far as this...the owner quoted as the warranty being transferable however tight at the bottom it says it isn't???

If it doesn't cost you anything more than an email or phone call, I'd make the effort to try to get them to replace it.

It'll cost them the money it takes to make the part, packaging, shipping, and the cost associated with dealing with you.

When you get your replacement, throw it out.

You'll be buying a better product anyway to replace that crap right?

Fuck em in the mouth!

It's not much but the principle of it all would put a smile on my face if it were me. :D

Sucks that it bent, I would see if they could just give you a new end, but I dont see that happening.

To be fair to Metalcloak, they did offer to replace the damaged end with a new one of the same old design. I was asking for the updated end, to which they said, "No." That was the most disappointing part. The old design was defective, so let's replace it with the same defective design. Or sell me a new one with the updated design. I'm sure it would have been fine for a while, but for a $4k kit you would think that if there was a design flaw, they would want to fix it and keep the customer satisfied. As of now, the only things left from the original Game Changer are the 8 arms and brake lines.

Whoever reads this, take it for what it's worth. Many retailers push product not based upon what's best, but what's best for their profit margin. My local retailer is a small shop that learned through my experience that best profit margin is not always consistent with best for the customer. He has sold many Metalcloak kits without issue, but from my experience, I would have gone a different route based upon experience, research and recommendations from a community of jeep enthusiasts like Wayalife that pushes their equipment to the limits of design. Trust a retailer? Trust a forum filled with merchants disguised as joe blow? Or, trust a community of enthusiasts that takes pride in keeping those business influences out of the forum? I choose the latter.

Well that was shitty of them, They should of replaced it with the updated part since they knew it was a issue. I'm glad I found this forum, just wish I had done it sooner.

Not entirely - if there is a significant known defect found; a recall is generally issued and that defective part would be replaced with the new improved part. I think this might be a little closer to that sort of scenario.

It sounds like Metal Cloak knew the old style joint was inferior, and have since replaced it with a new improved version. Yet, they still obviously stock and ship the old inferior joint... and it sounds like they do so to resolve issues with the old inferior joint.

So who has a good lift for $2,700 or less, excluding AEV and pucks? I'm looking to put 35s on Chamber Pros. Metalcloak is probably the most popular lift with the active members of our club though there are others.

I contacted metalcloak on the 23rd. Heard back from them today the 24th. They are sending me the replacement clevis end and having it shipped tomorrow the 25th. I cant say if it is the new style or a replacement old style and also if they are sending one or two to replace both arms. Overall I am happy with the customer service given that I am out of warranty and there were no questions asked.
