Well a guy i know that goes to my church he's been restoring cars and trucks as a hobby for like 15-20+ years said that when you lift any vehicle that it voids the warranty. I was planning on running up to the local dealership soon to ask them about it

There is no rule that says a certain amount of lift will void a warranty. Every dealership is different and it will depend on the repair being done. You can run 37's with cutting on a spacer lift which can void your warranty.

Not to be rude. If I were you I would go with the BB like Eddie said save the money for other things. I ran a 1 3/4" spacer lift put wheel spacers on with 35 for a year and had no problem I did trim the flares.
