I have 2 different devices (and an extension Y splitter) that I have tried to connect to the OBD 2 plug. The devices have lights when plugged in but quickly go out.
I'm going to check the cables later and make sure it isn't a loose connection.
On the other hand I haven had doors on the jeep for a couple years. I'm sure the plugs are dirty and corroded (salt air/water). Any suggestions on cleaning or replacing??
